| Where I hang out, What I like to do and my experiences with dating:
A year and a half ago, I spotted an ad that met all of my criteria: athletic, outdoorsy, married, a bit too young but borderline close-enough, and in my own Zip code (I'd decided long ago that for a love affair to work, my lover would have to be very close by). I responded but got no response. I do not like to pester, but I thought this one was worth a few nonpushy followups. Eventually I got a reply -- she'd been busy. I broke one of my major rules: I agreed to meet her without seeing a photo first (I'd learned long ago, the hard way, NEVER to do that). Expecting a nice but plain woman, I found a beauty. We are truly in love, far beyond our original intentions and expectations, whatever they were. It mattered not that she was lying about her age by 10 years (ordinarily something I'd consider an unforgiveable offense) and her location (we are 80 minutes' drive apart), and even about her actual intentions. We are both well over 50 years old, and we are like sweetagers in love. No one is more surprised than we. It is real, true, delicious, totally unexpected.
